I often say it, and I truly believe it—I have the best job in the world! Being a wedding photographer is not just a career; it’s an honour and a privilege that I deeply cherish.

To begin with, documenting your wedding day is much more than simply taking photos—it’s about capturing the essence of your story. Over the years, my journey as a photographer has taken me around the world, involving me in incredible projects. However, despite all these amazing experiences, nothing compares to the joy of capturing weddings.

From the early morning excitement spent with your bridesmaids or groomsmen, to that unforgettable first look you share with your dad, every moment is significant. Then, there’s the emotional moment when your groom sees you walking down the aisle. Whether it’s your children joining in the celebration or the heartfelt tears of joy that mark the beginning of your new family, each moment is precious and deserves to be captured with care.

My Journey into Wedding Photography: From Passion to Profession

My journey into wedding photography began quite unexpectedly and was sparked by a simple passion for capturing moments with my family. Initially, I would take photos of my loved ones and share them on Facebook, never imagining that this hobby would one day pave the way for a rewarding career as a wedding photographer.

Then, everything changed one day when a friend reached out to me. She had seen my photos online and loved them, so she asked if I could photograph her wedding. Since she and her partner couldn’t afford a professional photographer, she hoped I could do it as a huge favour. At first, I was extremely apprehensive about taking on such a significant responsibility. However, after much persuasion on her part, I eventually agreed to give it a shot.

Looking back on that decision now, I realize how much of a leap of faith it really was. It took a lot of courage to step out of my comfort zone and take on that challenge.

But, in hindsight, it was the beginning of something truly special. My journey as a wedding photographer started with that first opportunity, and I’m grateful every day for the path it has led me on.

I fell in love with it, from there I heavily invested into my education and learned everything I could from some of the leading experts in the field.

Therefore, the more I learned the more I wanted it. I wanted to get better and I wanted to give people memories that last a lifetime. I love my job with a passion, I’m always looking at challenging myself to be better every single wedding and will always strive to do my very best for every couple that trusts me to capture their special day.
