I LIVE HERE.
I SHOOT HERE.
I know this County

I’m based in Shropshire and I’ve shot at eleven of the region’s best venues. That’s not a casual thing. I know what the light does at Hawkstone Hall at four in the afternoon. I know why the Grain Loft works so well surrounded by landscape. I know which venues are dark and which ones demand a different approach.

If I haven’t shot at your venue before, I’ll recce it properly beforehand, not a quick drive past, a proper look at the space, the light, where the moments will happen. That’s part of how you get documentary work that actually feels like your wedding.

THE VENUES I'VE SHOT

Hawkstone Hall. Delbury Hall. The Mill Barns. The Grain Loft. The Wroxeter. Moat Hall Barns. Morrells Wood Farm. Rowton Castle. Arley House. High Grosvenor. Hundred House.

Each one’s different and that’s the point.

My philosophy is simple. I want to walk into any venue, any situation, any kind of day and shoot the shit out of it. Manor house, working barn, hidden orangery, castle, big budget, intimate ceremony, chaotic family, quiet couple. Doesn’t matter. The job is to see what’s in front of me and make something real from it.

I love the Grain Loft because it’s genuinely DIY and the surrounding landscape is some of the prettiest in the county. I love the barns because they’re dark and they push me creatively. Hundred House has everything in one place the barn, the new orangery, the gardens.

I’ve also got my eye on Davenport House, Iscoyd Park, and Netley Hall. If you’re booking any of those, let’s talk.

WHY SHROPSHIRE WORKS,
for my kind of photography

The landscape is built for it. Wide open country, dramatic skies, proper light. The venues are scattered across the county which means every wedding feels different. And the couples who get married here tend to want something real not a Pinterest performance, just their actual day, properly captured.

That’s why Shropshire works so well for what I do. The venues here are wildly different from each other, sometimes within ten miles. There’s no “Dana shoots barns” or “Dana shoots country houses.” I shoot weddings. Wherever they happen. Properly.

I’m based here. I shoot across the whole county. Shrewsbury, Ludlow, Bridgnorth, Telford, Oswestry, Whitchurch, Market Drayton, and the villages in between. Travel within Shropshire is included in the price. No mileage surprises. No “after a certain postcode we start charging.”

what couples say

"She made everybody feel at ease and brought a unique quirk to our day. Nothing was too much trouble for her, and the shots she got were absolutely perfect."

WHAT BOOKING LOCAL
actually means

You’re not paying for a photographer who’s road-tripped in from Manchester for the day. You’re booking someone who lives twenty minutes away.

If your timeline shifts on the day, I know where to go and what the light’s doing. If it pours down, I’ve got a plan. If your venue needs a recce before the day, I can be there without it being a logistical headache.

That’s what local actually means. Not just a postcode. Genuine knowledge of the county and the venues in it.

Common Questions

Yes. Weddings are photographed across the entire county, from smaller countryside venues to larger, more established locations.

Yes. While based in Shropshire, weddings are photographed across the Midlands and throughout the UK.

Not at all. Most couples feel this way, which is why the approach is focused on keeping things natural and relaxed rather than posed.

Not at all. Most of my couples feel the same way. My documentary approach means very little posing and plenty of space to relax and enjoy the day.

Most couples book anywhere from 12–18 months in advance, especially for peak summer dates. That said, I do sometimes have availability closer to the date, so it’s always worth getting in touch as soon as you have your venue and date confirmed. If you’re currently comparing options, you may also find this helpful: How much does a wedding photographer cost in the UK?

Yes, absolutely. While my approach is documentary and relaxed, I’ll always guide you through group photos so they’re quick, stress-free, and don’t take you away from your day for too long. For couple portraits, I’ll give gentle direction and keep things natural so nothing feels awkward or overly posed.

Rain never ruins a wedding and honestly, it can make for some of the most atmospheric photos. I’m always prepared to adapt, find the best light, and work with whatever the day brings. Some of my favourite Shropshire wedding photos have been taken in unexpected weather.

My style is documentary, natural, and relaxed. I focus on real moments, genuine emotion, and the energy of the day rather than staged shots. The goal is for your photos and film to feel timeless, honest, and full of personality just like your wedding.
