If you’re looking for a Shropshire wedding photographer who captures real moments without awkward posing, you’re in the right place.

I’m Dana, a documentary wedding photographer and videographer based in Telford, photographing relaxed, fun-loving couples across Shropshire.

My approach is all about letting you enjoy your wedding day while I quietly capture the laughter, emotion, and in-between moments exactly as they happen.

Relaxed, Documentary Wedding Photography in Shropshire

Shropshire is the perfect place for laid-back weddings from countryside barns and historic venues to outdoor celebrations surrounded by rolling hills. My documentary approach fits naturally into these kinds of days, allowing everything to unfold without interruption.

Rather than staging moments or pulling you away from your guests, I focus on telling the story of your wedding as it genuinely happens. The result is wedding photos and films that feel honest, emotional, and full of life, not forced or over-produced.

If you want to remember how your wedding felt, not just how it looked, documentary wedding photography is the perfect fit.

What It’s Like Having Me as Your Shropshire Wedding Photographer

Your wedding day shouldn’t feel like a photoshoot.

It should feel like the best day of your life and I’m there to capture it, not control it.

When couples book me as their Shropshire wedding photographer, they want natural, real moments. The belly laughs during prep. The proud tears. The chaos of confetti. The dance floor carnage when the tie comes off.

I shoot in a relaxed, documentary style meaning I don’t stage your day or make you perform for the camera. I blend in, read the room, and capture what’s actually happening.

But you’re never left awkwardly wondering what to do.

When it’s time for couple portraits, I’ll guide you just enough to keep things flowing naturally. No stiff posing. No forced smiles. Just simple direction, great light, and space for you to be yourselves.

If the weather turns (classic Shropshire), I adapt.
If timelines run late, I stay calm.
If the party explodes, I’m right in the middle of it.

You get photographs that feel like you fun, emotional, and completely natural.

That’s the goal. Every single time.

Common Questions

Yes, I cover the whole of Shropshire, including Telford, Shrewsbury, Ludlow, Bridgnorth, and surrounding areas.

Absolutely! While I’m based in Telford, I photograph weddings throughout the UK. Travel expenses are covered by you for destination weddings.

Yes. I offer both services in a natural, unobtrusive style so everything works seamlessly together.

Not at all. Most of my couples feel the same way. My documentary approach means very little posing and plenty of space to relax and enjoy the day.

Most couples book anywhere from 12–18 months in advance, especially for peak summer dates. That said, I do sometimes have availability closer to the date, so it’s always worth getting in touch as soon as you have your venue and date confirmed. If you’re currently comparing options, you may also find this helpful: How much does a wedding photographer cost in the UK?

Yes, absolutely. While my approach is documentary and relaxed, I’ll always guide you through group photos so they’re quick, stress-free, and don’t take you away from your day for too long. For couple portraits, I’ll give gentle direction and keep things natural so nothing feels awkward or overly posed.

Rain never ruins a wedding and honestly, it can make for some of the most atmospheric photos. I’m always prepared to adapt, find the best light, and work with whatever the day brings. Some of my favourite Shropshire wedding photos have been taken in unexpected weather.

My style is documentary, natural, and relaxed. I focus on real moments, genuine emotion, and the energy of the day rather than staged shots. The goal is for your photos and film to feel timeless, honest, and full of personality just like your wedding.
