THE URBAN SIDE OF WEDDINGS

The West Midlands gets a different kind of wedding to the countryside. More hotel-based, more contemporary, different energy. I love it. It’s not rolling hills and country estates, it’s city weddings, modern venues, couples who want something real in the middle of real life.

I shoot across the whole region Solihull, Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Coventry, Warwickshire, and everywhere in between. Travel within the West Midlands is included in the price. No mileage surprises. No “after a certain postcode we start charging.”

THE VENUES I'VE SHOT

Coombe Abbey. Moxhull Hall. Hogarths Solihull. The Mount Hotel.

Each one’s different and that’s the point.

My philosophy is simple. I want to walk into any venue, any situation, any kind of day — and shoot the shit out of it. Contemporary hotel, historic abbey, country house, urban venue. Doesn’t matter. The job is to see what’s in front of me and make something real from it.

That’s why the West Midlands works for what I do. A hotel wedding is a completely different puzzle to a country house. Each one demands something different. But the approach stays the same show up, see what’s there, shoot it properly.

I’ve also got my eye on Bourton Hall, Ragley Hall, Brampton Grange, and Rushton Hall. If you’re booking any of those, let’s talk.

WHY THE WEST MIDLANDS WORKS,
for my kind of photography

Urban weddings have their own beauty. You don’t get the dramatic landscapes, but you get real couples in real spaces. You get the texture of the city, the character of contemporary venues, the energy of a different kind of day.

The couples who get married here tend to want honesty. They’re not chasing a countryside fantasy they’re looking for their actual day, captured properly, with all its energy and character.

WHAT BOOKING LOCAL
actually means

I shoot here regularly. I know these venues, I know how to work in urban spaces, I know what the light does in a hotel ballroom versus a countryside garden.

If your timeline shifts on the day, I know the area. If it pours down, I’ve got a plan. If your venue needs a recce before the day and I haven’t shot there before, I’ll go and do one properly. A proper look at the space, the light, where the moments will happen.

That’s what local actually means.

Common Questions

I regularly photograph weddings across Birmingham, Warwickshire, Staffordshire and surrounding areas. Travel within the West Midlands is no problem at all.

There’s a good chance I’ve either worked there or somewhere very similar. But even if it’s new to me, that’s never an issue strong documentary photography is about reading light and people, not relying on a preset shot list.

Yes. Most West Midlands couples book full-day coverage so nothing important is missed from prep right through to the dance floor chaos.

Yes, photography and videography can be booked together for cohesive coverage.

Most couples book anywhere from 12–18 months in advance, especially for peak summer dates. That said, I do sometimes have availability closer to the date, so it’s always worth getting in touch as soon as you have your venue and date confirmed. Yes, absolutely. While my approach is documentary and relaxed, I’ll always guide you through group photos so they’re quick, stress-free, and don’t take you away from your day for too long. For couple portraits, I’ll give gentle direction and keep things natural so nothing feels awkward or overly posed.

Rain never ruins a wedding and honestly, it can make for some of the most atmospheric photos. I’m always prepared to adapt, find the best light, and work with whatever the day brings. Some of my favourite West Midlands wedding photos have been taken in unexpected weather.

My style is documentary, natural, and relaxed. I focus on real moments, genuine emotion, and the energy of the day rather than staged shots. The goal is for your photos and film to feel timeless, honest, and full of personality just like your wedding.
